Turbulence

If you have been on a plane, you already know how scary turbulence can feel. It feels like the sky and the plane are at war. Recently, I had an experience with turbulence. For once, I was not shook by it. Instead, I heard “Be still and stay grounded.” As most passengers panicked, I stayed still in the midst of turbulence. It was as if I was in my own world of peace and nothing could break my peace.

This reminded me of my relationship with God. Our relationship with God should reflect peace, joy and hope. “For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love and of a sound mind” 2 Timothy 1:7. In a time of crisis, there is no reason to panic because we should put our trust in Yahuwah. In the midst of spiritual warfare, God is asking us to be still and grounded in His word. “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you” Deuteronomy 31:6. Yahuah’s peace is enough confirmation that He is working things out for your good.

The Word of God is applicable to all of our daily issues. If we stay rooted in His word, it would solve a lot of our issues. It is not always about having strength. In times of trouble, our strength needs to come from Yeshua. “It is better to be wise than strong; intelligence outranks muscle any day. Strategic planning is the key to warfare; to win, you need a lot of good counsel” Proverbs 21: 5-6 MSG. It is more important for us to be obedient by feeding ourselves with spiritual food.

We do not have all the answers. But if you seek God, He will reveal all of the answers. When we approach God, we should approach Him similar to a curious child. Children always have endless questions because they are determined to get all the answers. “If you make insight your priority, and won’t take no for an answer, searching for it like a prospector panning for gold, like an adventurer on a treasure hunt, Believe me, before you know it Fear-of- God will be yours; you’ll have come up upon the Knowledge of God.” Proverbs 2:3-5.

Do not get distracted by the turbulence (trials) in your life. The turbulence is preparing you for something bigger. The ride might seem long and bumpy, but utilize this waiting period as preparation. This the time to stay rooted in the Yahuah’s word for insight to gain wisdom. Replace your doubt with joy and hope in Yeshua Hamashiach. He is the light of the world and should be the light of our lives. Today happens to mark the longest day of the year (Summer Solstice). The sun is at its highest peak, which means the day is at its longest and the night is at its shortest. You are this much closer to the light at the end of the dark tunnel. Trust that today the battle is already won and victory today is yours (1 Corinthians 15:7).
